Gionathan

Versatile and multi-faceted songwriter, producer and videomaker Gionathan is active in many countries. In addition to his native Italy, he is busy with projects in Spain and the United States, among other places. He has also been able to demonstrate his diverse experience on the stage of X-Factor Italy.
In 2014, as “Gionathan and the Groovers”, his first album “Come Sabbia” was released, which was produced together with DJ MistaB. The album and the released singles were often played by the radios in Italy, even won competitions, were included on numerous compilations and allowed Gionathan to play on the stage of big festivals.

In 2015 began the live activities of “Gionathan and the Groovers” and was released the album “DiVersione Acustica”. Sold-out concerts followed and again the singles were often played by radio stations all over Italy. In 2017 Gionathan and the Groovers are finalist at TourMusicFest, becomes third (out of 1300 projects) at SanRemo Rock Festival and is selected by Red Ronnie as FIAT Music Band to open the concert of The Kolors in Turin.

In 2018 Gionathan released, including an elaborate music video, the single “Niente di strano”. In the summer of the same year, he signs with the Swiss label profimusic and goes on another tour, which takes him all over Italy. The following year, the singles and music videos “Caduta Libera”, “Friendzone”, “A tempo su di noi” and “Stanotte” are released.

In January 2020, Gionathan is one of 10 artists invited to RadioMusicFest, a radio and TV event, and in February he gives a concert on the television program VeNew274. Both events will be broadcast throughout Europe. From May to August 2020, he released his project “Corro e Basta”. This song was released in three-week intervals in 5 completely different versions.
After that, Gionathan released three singles in English: the nu-disco song “I Feel the Groove”, with “Mary did you know” an urban version of the Christmas classic and with “Good premonition” a smooth neo-soul ballad.

In 2021 Gionathan released the single “Dimmi di no”, which was followed by a tour with a full band through central and southern Italy. In the fall he released the single “Luna Park” in collaboration with Karen Marra (The Voice of Italy) and in February 2022 he was chosen among the 24 finalists of the first Christian music festival of Sanremo. In this, Gionathan won the prize for the best composition and the Alberto Testa prize with the song “Tu mi hai amato per primo”.

April 8, 2022 saw the release of “Anima Libera”, Gionathan’s first solo album, which was enthusiastically received by professionals.

The same year will follow the summer hit “Paprika” and the single “Free/Libero” together with Dutch artist BlackRockStar, a song that will take the duo on a long tour of clubs, festivals and prisons in Italy and Switzerland.

Gionathan is also artistic director as well as initiator and in some cases host of music festivals, and radio and television formats dedicated to live music.

Der vielseitige und facettenreiche Songwriter, Produzent und Videomacher Gionathan ist in vielen Ländern aktiv. Neben seiner Heimat Italien ist er unter anderem in Spanien und den Vereinigten Staaten mit Projekten beschäftig. Seine vielfältigen Erfahrungen konnte er auch bereits auf der Bühne von X-Factor Italien unter Beweis stellen.
Im Jahr 2014 erschien als „Gionathan and the Groovers“ sein erstes Album “Come Sabbia”, welches zusammen mit DJ MistaB produziert wurde. Das Album und die veröffentlichten Singles wurden oft von den Radios in Italien gespielt, sogar Wettbewerbe gewonnen, auf zahlreichen Compilations aufgenommen und ermöglichte Gionathan auf der Bühne grosser Festivals zu spielen.

Im Jahr 2015 begannen die Liveaktivitäten von “Gionathan and the Groovers” und wurde das Album “DiVersione Acustica” veröffentlicht. Es folgen ausverkaufte Konzerte und wiederum wurden die Singles von den Radiostationen in ganz Italien oft gespielt. Im Jahre 2017 sind Gionathan and the Groovers Finalist beim TourMusicFest, wird beim SanRemo Rock Festival Dritter (von 1300 Projekten) und von Red Ronnie als FIAT Music Band ausgewählt, um das Konzert von The Kolors in Turin zu eröffnen.

Im Jahr 2018 veröffentlichte Gionathan, inklusive einem aufwändigen Musikvideo, die Single “Niente di strano”. Im Sommer desselben Jahres unterschreibt er beim Schweizer Label profimusic und geht auf eine weitere Tournee, welche ihn durch ganz Italien führt.
Im folgenden Jahr werden die Singles und Musikvideos “Caduta Libera“, “Friendzone“, “A tempo su di noi“ und “Stanotte“ veröffentlicht.

Im Januar 2020 ist Gionathan einer von 10 Künstlern, die zum RadioMusicFest, einem Radio- und TV-Event, eingeladen werden und im Februar gibt er ein Konzert in der Fernsehsendung VeNew274. Beide Veranstaltungen werden in ganz Europa übertragen. Von Mai bis August 2020 veröffentlichte er sein Projekt “Corro e Basta“. Dieser Song wurde im Drei-Wochen-Rhythmus in 5 völlig unterschiedlichen Versionen veröffentlicht.
Danach veröffentlichte Gionathan drei Singles in englisch: Den Nu-Disco Song “I Feel the Groove“, mit “Mary did you know“ eine Urban-Version des Weihnachts-Klassikers und mit “Good premonition“ eine geschmeidige Neo-Soul-Ballade.

Im Jahr 2021 veröffentlichte Gionathan die Single “Dimmi di no”, welcher eine Tournee mit kompletter Band durch Mittel- und Süditalien folgte. Im Herbst veröffentlichte er in Zusammenarbeit mit Karen Marra (The Voice of Italy) die Single „Luna Park“ und im Februar 2022 wurde er unter die 24 Finalisten des ersten christlichen Musikfestivals von Sanremo gewählt. Dabei gewann Gionathan mit dem Song “Tu mi hai amato per primo“ den Preis für die beste Komposition und den Alberto-Testa-Preis.

Am 8. April 2022 erschien mit “Anima Libera” Gionathans erstes Soloalbum, das von Fachleuten begeistert aufgenommen wird.

Noch im selben Jahr folgen der Sommerhit “Paprika” und die Single “Free/Libero” zusammen mit dem niederländischen Künstler BlackRockStar, ein Song, welcher das Duo auf eine lange Tournee durch Clubs, Festivals und Gefängnisse in Italien und der Schweiz führen wird.

Gionathan ist auch künstlerischer Leiter sowie Initiator und in einigen Fällen Gastgeber von Musikfestivals, sowie Radio- und Fernsehformaten, die sich der Live-Musik widmen.

Colleziona una lunga serie di collaborazioni e calca sin da subito palchi importanti sia con le proprie canzoni che come vocalist, fino ad essere scelto come corista di X-Factor in due diverse edizioni.
Nel 2014 esce con Come Sabbia, innovativo e apprezzato album urban realizzato a quattro mani con dj MistaB che vede la partecipazione di esponenti della scena HipHop italiana, quali Maxi B, ATPC ed altri. Il disco si piazza subito alla posizione n2 della classifica RnB di iTunes, mentre i 4 singoli estratti raggiungo tutti la parte alta della classifica indie nelle radio italiane, permettendo ai due di vincere diversi contest, di essere inseriti in numerose compilation e di suonare sui palchi di importanti festival.

Nel 2015 nasce il progetto Gionathan & the Groovers, molto prolifico sul piano live, con il quale il cantante inciderà l’album DiVersione Acustica (2016), presentato con un concerto sold-out al Teatro S.Anna di Torino. Verranno estratti due singoli che supereranno entrambe le 1500 rotazioni radiofoniche. Nel 2017 la band è finalista al TourMusicFest, si classifica terza al SanRemo Rock Festival (su 1300 progetti) e viene scelta da Red Ronnie come band FIAT Music per aprire il concerto torinese dei TheKolors.

Ad aprile 2018 esce su VEVO Niente di strano, il nuovo singolo, che entra subito in classifica AirPlay. Nell’estate dello stesso anno, un tour di 15 date lo porta a suonare live in tutta Italia, dal nord al sud, alla conclusione del quale firma per l’etichetta svizzera profimusic.

Nel 2019 vengono pubblicati i singoli e i videoclip Caduta Libera, Friendzone, A tempo su di noi e Stanotte che ricevono tutti un ottima accoglienza sulle piattaforme di streaming.

A gennaio 2020 Gionathan è uno dei 10 artisti invitati al RadioMusicFest, evento Radio e TV, mentre a febbraio tiene un concerto per il programma televisivo VeNew274. Entrambe gli eventi vengono trasmessi in tutta Europa. Da maggio ad agosto 2020 è la volta dell’originale progetto Corro e Basta, singolo uscito in 5 versioni completamente diverse a cadenza trisettimanale.
Le 3 uscite successive dell’artista sono invece in lingua inglese: I feel the groove grintosa hit nu-disco, Mary did you know, versione urban del classico natilizioe e Good premonition, sinuosa ballad neo-soul.

Durante 2021 Gionathan rilascia l’anti-tormentone estivo Dimmi di no, al quale fa seguito un tour in full band nel centro e sud Italia. In autunno esce il singolo Luna Park in collaborazione con Karen Marra (The Voice of Italy).

A febbraio 2022, selezionato tra i 24 finalisti del primo Sanremo Christian Music Festival, vince i Premi Miglior Composizione e Alberto Testa, con la canzone Tu mi hai amato per primo.

L’8 aprile 2022 esce Anima Libera, l’album di debutto solista di Gionathan.
