In April 2017 the song YOU LIFT ME UP by daFOO was the best Swiss new entry into the Single Charts. There are the moments of the great songs. These situations can not be induced artificially, they just happen. Exactly such a moment arose in a confirmation camp of the reformed church in Oftringen. One evening the musician and youth worker David Bhend, known under the artist name daFOO, began to play the song “Lift Me Up”. The present confirmands began to sing along spontaneously and the whole room was instantly captured by a fascinating feeling. From this moment daFOO knowed that he wanted to release this song with these enthusiastic young people towards the confirmation.
Together with the label profimedia was discussed about potential producers for this touching song. Soon it became clear, that the song should have an appropriate sound dress to the listening habits of the confirmands. The producer and artist FreeG, who is known for several chart hits, gold and platinum awards, could be convinced to sustain the project. For months the fusion of the song idea and the dance sound were worked out and and the songwriter Dillon Dixon (George Jones, Steve Holy, Neal McCoy, Filmmusik Scream, Terminator 3, Blade, X-Stylez & Two-M, DiMario, etc.) contributed to the elaboration of the song lyrics. The result was an extraordinary dance song, which has mutated into a beloved hymn among all these young people due to the recorded choir with the confirmands
The Milanese Simone Speranza, already known for the remix of THE GREAT ESCAPE by FreeG, now dedicated himself to the song YOU LIFT ME UP. The result is a refreshing remix of a still extravagant dance song.

Im April 2017 war der Song YOU LIFT ME UP von daFOO bester Schweizer Neueinstieg in den Single Charts. Es gibt den Moment der grossen Songs. Man kann diese Situationen nicht künstlich herbeiführen, es passiert einfach. Genau ein solcher Moment enstand im einem Konfirmationslager der Reformierten Kirche Oftringen. Der Musiker und Jugendarbeiter David Bhend, unter dem Künstlernamen daFOO bekannt, begann an einem Abend den Song „Lift Me Up“ zu spielen. Die anwesenden Konfirmanden begannen spontan mitzusingen und der ganze Raum wurde augenblicklich von einem Gänsehautgefühl erfasst. Ab diesem Moment war daFOO klar: Diesen Song möchte er auf die Konformation hin mit diesen begeisterten jungen Leuten zusammen veröffentlichen.
Zusammen mit dem Label profimedia diskutierte man über mögliche Produzenten für diesen berührenden Song. Schnell wurde klar, dass der Song ein Klanggewand ensprechend den Hörgewohnheiten dieser Konfirmanden haben muss. Für dies konnte der durch mehrere Chart-Hits, Gold-, sowie Platinawards bekannte Produzent und Künstler FreeG gewonnen werden. Monatelang wurde an der Fusion der Songidee und dem Dancesound getüftelt und für die Ausarbeitung des Songtextes konnte der Songwriter Dillon Dixon (George Jones, Steve Holy, Neal McCoy, Filmmusik Scream, Terminator 3, Blade, X-Stylez & Two-M, DiMario, etc.) gewonnen werden. Entstanden ist ein aussergewöhnlicher Dancesong, welcher durch den aufgenommenen Chor mit den Konfirmanden, unter all diesen jungen Leuten zu einer geliebten Hymne mutiert ist.

Der Mailänder Simone Speranza, bereits bekannt durch den Remix von THE GREAT ESCAPE von FreeG, widmete sich nun dem Song YOU LIFT ME UP. Herausgekommen ist ein erfrischender Remix, eines immernoch extravaganten Dance-Songs.

Simone Speranza lives in Milan and was already fascinated by music as a child. At that time his brother inspired him to realize his passion and so he began to make his own music at the age of 16. Further on, his brother plays an important role in his musical career as an encourager and advisor.
